Pets

I am totally an animal person. I love watching nature shows, and I’m always interested in the things creeping and crawling around outside. I grew up having cats as pets, as well as the occasional hamster (and a venus fly trap once as well, if plants can count as pets). And when I decided to keep the snake we found in our backyard, it sort of opened the floodgates as far as the pet possibilities go. For some reason I’m interested in less common pets. Over the past year I’ve been considering hedgehogs, sugar gliders, skinks, giant insects of some sort, and other kinds of snakes.

If I were to get another pet sometime in the near future, what should it be?

How's about a hissing cocroach? (I don't even know if I spelled that right...)

sugar gliders? skinks? I'm pretty sure those are animals found only in Harry Potter.

get a little amphibian. Or a turtle. I always wanted a pet turtle that you let loose in the house.

My husband would say Sugar Glider. He keeps asking me if he can have one.

Yeah, you have to be willing to spend lots of time with gliders to bond with them, unless you get more than one. I would do it if I were single and had no life, though.

I thought about something like the cockroach. I love insects, but they tend to only live for a year or two. And, while my wife has grown to accept and even like our snake Reggie, I doubt she would ever be so accepting of a giant cockroach.

I like the idea of having a Skunk but I am not sure its legal here.

I would go for a pig. I don't know if you remember that I have liked pigs for many years. Some day I want to own a teacup pig, but they are SUPER expensive! One day though...

I totally remember from jr. high that you wanted a teacup pig! Wow, that brings back a ton of memories.

My mom has an adult male chinchilla you could have. Megan bought three a few years ago and now my mom has them and my dad's making her get rid of them because no one pays any attention to them. You could even have the one with some mild brain damage. A rock fell on his head as a baby it only made him a little slower than the other two. They're really soft but a little stinky. I'm serious about it if you want one.
